About me

After studying Art and Design in Sheffield I entered the Jewellery trade in sales and manufacture before going on to open my own vintage clothes shop in the mid 80s. Following this I went back into the jewellery trade working for over twenty years in the Peak District for Orlap Ltd as a jeweller/lapidarist, making jewellery for many of the top independent jewellery shops in the country and some in Europe.

I now have my own workshop based at the Butcher works, a grade 2 listed ex-cutlery works in the centre of Sheffield in an area where many of the Little Mesters and artisans once worked. Built in 1835 it is now fully restored and houses The Academy of Makers a collection of craftsmen and women in individual workshops as well as a cafe, shop, gallery and a bakery. As well as running their own businesses the makers also spend time providing work experience to young students with Autistic Spectrum Disorders from Freeman College.
